Well, I’m headed off to the retreat tonight, despite my daughter’s pleading for me to stay – “Please don’t leave me with all the boys for the whole weekend!!” (She will be just fine, though, thank the Lord, because of the friends she now has in our neighborhood.)
Just to give you a little peek at what I am headed to—the first night of last year’s retreat, we started eating dinner at 12:15am…and none of the women thought anything of it! (Do you remember me mentioning about the different time schedule here in Latin America?!?)
Please pray with me that many hearts will be touched, challenged, and encouraged to draw closer to the Lord as well as reach out to others that still do not know the love of Jesus – whether they be in their neighborhoods, workplaces, or families.
Hope you have a great weekend as well!
Titus 2:1,3-5 (NIV) You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine…teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.
Have you been able to attend a women’s retreat lately?

Kristen, have a great time at the retreat. It has been 2 years since I have had an opportunity to attend one and I am looking forward to March when there is one that I will be able to attend. Retreats, for me, are a time of rest and refreshment, especially in the Lord, as well as a time to have some “girl tallk”. Enjoy

Hi I have never been on a all women retreat. I have gone to WV for a retreat every year for about 6 years. This is where I found and came to believe in GOD so WV has a special place in my heart. I would like to go on a retreat in NY sometime.

My sister in law and I are in the midst of planning a girls and womens retreat for January and having fun with all the details!
(4th grade to 100 was the age limit) We are doing the Women of Faith study called “Managing your Moods” How’s that for a women’s retreat?! We have 28 women/girls signed up.
We just attended the Women of Faith Conference in Rochester in June and had such a good time we wanted to expand on it a bit.
I hope that you will have a blessed time and Felicia will find a way to survive her weekend with the men

Kristin, your 12:30 AM meal reminds if of the 11:30 PM meal we had at Gran Commission Church on our last night! Yes, that is something to get used to! I can just hear the pleas of Felicia (or any child, as mom is trying to extricate herself from the house)! I pray that this is a time of refreshment for you. Are you the planner/leader of the retreat? I’ll remember you as I mow my yard and paint the cellar door this weekend. God Bless.

The last time I’ve been to a ladies retreat was for last year’s retreat you’re going to. Is it at the same place? Make sure you check the stalls, if you know what I mean. hehe I love the food and fellowship down there, but don’t really miss the midnight meals, so have fun stuffing yourself.
A girl at my church, who teaches the teenage girl group, just recently organized a mentoring program for them, so I’ll be taking on the responsibility of one of the girls.

Northgate is having their annual Women’s Retreat this month and I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of the planning committee. We’ve changed the format this year, so it’s going to be interesting to see how it goes. I’m excited though! We’ll let you know how it goes!
Glad you enjoyed the retreat you were able to attend! I think it’s something very important for women to do for themselves!!
