We took our first two family vacations this year to Arizona and Florida. We took two in order to follow our nephews to their spring training baseball sites which won't happen again as they both have graduated now, so we seized the moments of both and had a great time! Can't wait for this year now as we try to get back to Arizona. Talk to you later! Lynn =)

This Saturday I am boarding a plane for Glacier National Park to see my son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons who live there! Five year old Blake is reportedly counting down the days until I come. I sure hope his expectations meet his anticipation! We'll be hiking and camping and making huckleberry pies, I'm told. I am so looking forward to this time together. Just hope the grandkids don't show me up too much on the climbs!

Have a great week, McGinnis Family! I'll check in when I get back.

This makes me sad cuz I had to think hard about the last time we were all together for a family vacation! We took a weekend trip in May 07 to NYC for Nathaniel's graduation present. Stayed outside the city and took the train in, shopping, sightseeing and then the main event: seeing the Yankees play in Yankees stadium! It was fast and fun to be together, Greg's sister Brenda and her whole family went with us, so we had a blast! It is hard when one is in college and another has a full time job. I was just content having everyone home in their own beds this summer!

We are hopping on the train to Chicago on Friday and we are all very excited! We have done plane and car trips this summer but this is the first family train trip. We will spend the night and meet up with family and go to Navy Pier, Shedd Aquarium and shopping. It will be one last time together before school starts back up on 9/2. Summer has gone by quickly, but we have been blessed with wonderful memories!

I hope you have a wonderful vacation. I was thinking of Felicia as I was watching the gymnastics. I hope she enjoyed them and is inspired by them.
I just had smore's on Keuka Lake. I spent Aug 8 - 10 at Camp Good Days. I went for a Women's Oncology Retreat. The best part is that it was FREE!! It was wonderful to meet other ladies who have survived many types of cancer. I even caught a fish and baited my own hook!
Looks like it will be a gorgous week. I can't wait to hear about all your adventures. Blessings

We've had both of our adult children home for three weeks and had a wonderful time just hanging out together. Hope your "unplugged" family vacation is even better than the anticipation!

You're right! You don't have to go anywhere to have a nice vacation right at home/backyard.
However, we recently took an affordable vacation to Erie, PA at Splash Lagoon. It was great! I worked for Marsha Coy, got some food money, and we were off for a few days. :) God is good. I recently heard a quote on k-love radio that said, "day off's are good because God first invented them" I thought that was great! Have fun!

We just did this last week. We call it a "stay-cation". It's actually a lot of fun! I highly recommend paper products for the week. Less loading and unloading the dishwasher - little vacation for mom!
