As you may know, I have not yet completed my first book, Help, I’m Married to a Pastor!; however, it looks like it is already time to start working on the sequel:
Help, I’m Married to a Pastor…AGAIN!
Did we see this coming four months ago? No.
Do we sense this is what the Lord is calling us to do? Yes.
Our flight back to the United States is on the sixth of December, and, instead of returning to Chile in February, Max will begin his appointment as the senior pastor of Edgewood Free Methodist Church on January 1st. (Click here to read our announcement letter.)
Can you say, “Wow”? As Steven Curtis Chapman says in one of his songs, “This is the great adventure!”
We are not home yet, friends, and until we are, there is a lot of work to do wherever God has called us.
Thank you, in advance, for your prayers for us. We have just fourteen days to finish preparations for moving back to the United States. These have been days of extreme emotions – from deep sadness to utter excitement – and back again.
Throughout this entire time of uncertainty, Max and I asked the Lord to be preparing each one of our childrens’ hearts in the way it needed to be. God has been ever so gracious to do just that. Of course there were tears and questions when we first told them, but now they are excited and filled with anticipation for what is coming. I am learning a lot from watching them.
So…with the Lord being our helper, we press on. Keep pressing on as well, my friend!
Hebrews 12:1 (NIV) Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

Kristin,
Yesterday in the mail we received the letter from Pastor Wally Flemming about the changes here at Edgewood FMC. Included was the link to your missionary page and then to here.
Just wanted to welcome you to the Edgewood family on behalf of our family. We are looking forwards to what God has in store for all of us.
Safe travels,
Richard, Tammie, Zachary, Joshua Vandermeulen

My chin just about hit the floor when I read your letter last night… and all I could say was wow! I will pray for peace, comfort, safety, and hope during all the busyness that will come in the next couple of weeks. It will be truly wonderful to have you back. Praise God that we can be excited with you on this “new adventure” and that we can trust in his awesome plans at all times. Isn’t it great that even in the midst of turbulence we can trust in Him?
Love,
Steph

Kristen,
You were always such a prayer warrior for me and my family , now it’s our turn to say an extra prayer for you. I’m sorry for the poeple in Chile to be l;osing you, but rejoice in you being closer to us again!
Be safe and I hope to talk to you soon!

Wow, I’m just getting caught up. God does work in mysterious ways. Pastor Andy just spoke of his connection to Edgewood in his sermon on Sunday. I’m sure God put that sermon in his heart at just the right time. I will be praying for all of you during this transition. I am looking forward to hearing how God moved you to return to the states. Looking forward to seeing all of you.

I’m glad you’re coming back to the U.S. I’ll pray that the transition will be a smooth one. Also, I admire you both in so many ways. I can see(so to speak) God working his perfect will in both of you.

Part of me is very surprised, yet another is not. God has plans we can’t even imagine! I’ll be praying that all you need to get done will go smoothly, and that all travel will be safe. How exciting to know you will be back! God bless all of you.

Dear Kristin,
Oh my goodness! I am catching up on my emails this morning and I can’t believe what I just read. Praise the Lord! I feel for the Chileans and the Loss they are about to experience. You and Max and your children have been such a blessing to them and God worked so much through you to them!!
I will be praying for all of you as you finish things up and prepare to leave. Wow! God is keeping you busy!! 🙂 I can’t wait to see you! Love, Kim
