observingI thought I would share some of my initial observations from our first week back in the States:

There are a lot of BIG things. – houses, vehicles, food portions, drinking glasses, laundry appliances, supermarkets, personal spending habits

There are many BEAUTIFUL things. – brick buildings, Christmas decorations, houses, kitchens, church buildings, bathrooms, furniture, paved side roads, open fields, gently-falling snow

There are things that make life EASY.  – quick internet access, automatic dishwashers, heat thermostats, portable water filters, Walmart stores, self-igniting stove burners

We are blessed with so much in this country!  I pray that I never take those blessings for granted, and yet, at the same time, never fully rely on them either.

Colossians 3:2,3 (NIV) Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.  For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

Your turn to share: Have you ever traveled internationally and, upon return to your home country, experienced culture shock?  If so, please share your experience.
