Things change.
People change.
Circumstances change.
Jobs change.
Feelings change.
Times change.
God never changes.
This song helps to remind me that God is my constant One. I pray that you are encouraged today as you remember that God is your constant One.

Song: My Constant One
When I wake, when I sleep
I hear whispers that seek to reach me
My constant One
When I dance, when I leap
Where I run, You are with me
Every day, every night
Of this earth, in this life
You are constantly keeping
In my joy, in my strife
When I taste my desires
I am cause in your eyes holding me
My constant One
When I feast on the words
That You speak, they will feed my hunger
My constant One
Where I lay, when I rest
I will say that I love you
I want to kiss the mouth that soothes me
When the smile has vanished from my face
When I sparkle in the mist that clouds me
Be sure that I am lost in You
Lost without a trace
My constant One
Every day, every night
Of this earth, in this life
You are constantly keeping
In my joy, in my strife
When I taste my desires
I am cause in your eyes holding me
My constant One
Hebrews 13:5b (NIV) …God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
Your turn to share: What verse, song, poem, etc. helps to remind you of this promise?

You forgot the first part of this verse, which I used to quote often when my kids would say, “But everyone has…..” (you name the toy, status symbol, etc.): the first part of the verse says, “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, for God has said, Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you. As often as I reminded my kids I was also reminding myself that our wealth or status was not measured by what we possess—-we were rich because God is our father, and he is ALWAYS with us! What a perspective. The words to this song are wonderful—I’m not familiar with it, but I’m going to find it.

In Christ Alone by Michael English is my theme song. I play it over and over. Hopefully one day I will sign it since I can’t sing it!

In my reading last night, I came across Isaiah 33:6 “He will be the sure foundation for your times…”. Another version I have uses the word “stability” for “sure foundation”. The verse just hit me, and reminded me of this blog… God is our constant one… we may be floundering but he is always stable, never changing, a sure foundation. Praise Him!!

I heard a song on the way home from work today by Chris Tomlin: Forever you are faithful, forever you are strong, forever you are with us, forever and ever. I thought of your blog right away. What a blessing to be reminded by sisters in Christ that we are always held by a never changing God I love that verse from Isaiah, Stephanie. The pastor’s sermon on Sunday was from Malachi, and ther in Chapter 3: 6 if the reminder,”I, the Lord, do not change. Our constant one.

It’s funny that you wrote about this. Two weeks ago I wrote a blog in which I said, “People change. Situations change” (amongst other thoughts). I just wanted to let you know that I’ve been reading what you write and have been appreciating it lots.
Love and miss you more than ever,
Rachel

Hi Kristin,
I am a few days behind in reading this but, just tonight I was thinking of and praying for Jon Hess from LCC who’s life is in God’s hands right now with the medical issues he faces.
A christian radio station (KLOVE) was playing this song earlier: “…For my God is with me. And if my God is with me, whom then shall I fear? Whom then shall I fear? Oh no! You never let go, through the calm and through the storm. Oh no! You never let go, through every high and every low. Oh no! You never let go. Lord you never let go of me…”
I can’t remember who sings it but, I know that we’ve sung it in church and did also at Getaway Camp this year. This brings back many memories of what we went through and how the Lord sustained us, 4 years ago when Kenny was so sick. Our God is with us through it all! He doesn’t leave us when the going gets tough but, is right there with us! When everything is chaos around us, he is the constant, unchanging, Almighty God!!
Thanks for your sharing your insights and helping us to pause and reflect on Our Lord!
